Felice Garcia is a Native New Mexican and has owned and managed a small business for over 35 years. She has sought out both traditional as well as non-traditional forms of education to raise herself, her family, and her community out of oppression and poverty. Her work through Partners in Policymaking with the UNM Developmental and Disability Center; Dr Howard Stevenson’s Racial Empowerment Collaborative, The Lion’s Story; participation in The Democracy Fellowship program; grassroots activism and Democratic political engagement informs her racial, socio-economic and equity literacy skills. She is passionate about learning and community building through empowerment and building cultural awareness.

Personal passions are enjoying the natural beauty of New Mexico with the many year-round adventure opportunities it offers; hiking, backpacking and back-country skiing, wandering in the wilderness in general with her husband and friends, old and new.
