My name is Vicky Estrada-Bustillo. I have 30 + years experience in natural resource management, working in federal government as well as running my own community focused watershed planning business. After retiring in 2018, I volunteered in my community and joined the Democratic Party grassroots organizing efforts. I was elected Precinct Chair and then Ward Chair, both positions involving community outreach and engagement. I continue to serve as Ward Chair for my Ward. In 2021 I helped establish and lead the Fuerzas Unidas Caucus. I was officially elected Chair in 2022 and served as Chair for two years.
I am excited to be re-engaging with Fuerzas Unidas Caucus after being away a year to run for state office. I continue to work on community engagement and empowerment through my involvement in my neighborhood coalition and community police council. More recently I have expanded my efforts to work with organizations that are addressing homelessness, housing and healthcare and food insecurity. I look forward to working with this leadership team to continue to advance the mission of the caucus of empowering Latinos/Hispanos across New Mexico.
